Meet the Band

GEORGE MYERS, the patriarch of the band, has been playing music and singing for at least 65 years now. He has played with many different bands across the country and finally made it back home to Arkansas where he teamed up with his family and some friends playing some "good stuff." He does most of the lead singing, plays the fiddle and any other stringed instrument.

HELEN MARTIN, daughter of George Myers and wife of Quinn Martin, has been playing and singing most of her life, thanks to her dad. She's played guitar and fiddle in different bands and plays the fiddle in her church orchestra. She sings some lead but loves to sing harmony in the band. Her background is heavy in bluegrass and gospel but loves to play all styles of music.

QUINN MARTIN, husband of Helen Martin, started playing bass in 1998. He plays the upright bass and electric bass. He has played with Ouachita Mtn. Boys, Stillwater Gospel Band, Church Orchestra, as well as doing fill-in bass for several area bluegrass and gospel bands.

MIKE ADAMS has played the banjo for 35 years with a number of bands, soloists and songwriters. He loves all kinds of music and his favorite job is a back up musician. He likes the challenge of putting a banjo where it has never been.

DAVID has played harmonica and sang with the folk duos, "Martin and Ashcroft" and "Dave and Karla." He has played keyboard, harmonica, sang, and written some of the original songs with "Tri Chord" (a Southern Rock style band). Just before joining the Family & Friends Acoustic Band, David played keyboard for the R & B Band, "Urban City Band" out of Little Rock. Now he is happy to Rock, Grass and Groove.
